What gear to choose?
For each engine the most economical mode of speed is individual, but still, it is not much different from other engines and ranges from 3200 to 2200 for petrol engines from 1800 to 2700 for diesel engines.
What type of tires to apply?
The lowest resistance of friction while rolling is created by radial-type tires designed for dry summer weather. Air pressure in tires is also very important, over- or underpumping of tires leads to increased resistance of friction, therefore, maintain pressure at the level specified in the instructions manual for your car.
What should be the driving style?
Starting, acceleration and braking should be smooth. The extra cargo in the trunk, passengers, and in general, any increase of weight in your vehicle is not desirable, because increases fuel consumption. Driving with the turned-on air conditioner (or refrigerator), bad battery, increasing the load on the generator, riding with powerful consumers of electricity turned-on (headlights, heated glass Ventilator, janitors, dimensions) also increases fuel consumption.
Respecting these simple rules can save 1 ... 3 litres per 100 km. Thus, having ridden 5000 km before the next replacement of lubricating oil you can save 50 ... 150 litres of fuel, which at current prices for fuel will cover the costs of replacing lubricant and oil filter.
