Brakes were invented by a coward?
During the process of breaking brake pads emit a bunch of harmful chemicals and dust into the atmosphere: copper, vanadium, zinc, molybdenum, nickel and chromium. And inhalation of asbestos, which is also contained in the pads, often leads to cancer. Not less dangerous is lead used in the manufacture of friction linings. But the most detrimental to human health is phenol emitting during prolonged or heavy braking from the hot pads, when the temperature of disc and pad reaches 800 degrees. In order to prevent from harmful evaporation leaking inside the car, filters were invented. They really help, but only in case of full sealing of the passenger compartment from the outside air. The frequency of replacement filters depends on their technical characteristics.
Some people believe that such technological marvels as the air conditioner and ionizers clean the air of the compartment. Delusion! Air-conditioner just cools the air coming into the cabin, but it can be the air of the compartment or from the streets with all impurities.
An ionizer is better not to use at all. Ionization of polluted air is a further harm! Out of simple, less harmful substances under the influence of ionization form complex, more harmful ones. Useful is only ionized clean air, but it can't be present in the car?
But still the main "suppliers" of carcinogens to the environment are not the exhaust emissions, but car tyres. Rubber tires and parts do not constitute danger themselves. But depreciated tyres leave the large quantity of dust on the roads which is harmful for our lungs, and other organs, too. About 60% of particles generated from the depreciated wear of tyres and entering the air, easily penetrate into the respiratory tract and cause allergic reactions, bronchial asthma, and in contact with mucous membrane and skin - conjunctivitis, rhinitis, and rash.
When braking car tires also emit harmful substances: benzene, xylene, styrene, toluene, carbon disulfide, formaldehyde, phenols, oxides of sulphur and other toxic substances with complex and daunting names. Up to 120 substances harmful for living organisms.
Rubber dust is preserved on the surface of pavement and soil for a long time. When the weather is dry, it rises into the air and flies straight into our respiratory apparatus - whether we decided to walk on foot along the sidelines travel by car. By the way such tyre dust remains in the body for a long time.
The quantity of dust formed from tires also depends not only on their quality, but also on the correct adjustment of the undercarriage of the car, style of driving, following the rules of operation, etc.
Studies show that one of the most significant sources of unwanted processes is resistance to rolling of tires. When ties are getting older dust rises in quantity.
Buying washing liquid, look carefully at the label: it shouldn't consist of methanol. This is a dangerous toxic substance. When you inhale methanol vapours mucous membranes irritation, dizziness, pain, cramps arise. When you take it orally it causes severe, life-threatening poisoning, and those who remain alive, can lose eyesight because of the affection of the optic nerve.
It turns out that most low-freezing liquids are manufactured on the basis of methanol! Dishonest manufacturers simply do not indicate its presence on the label. The content of methanol can be as high as 30% of the whole volume of liquid. The problem is that often these manufacturers produce liquid according to their own technologies from the most affordable raw materials
Use only certified products for your car that conform to the established documentation, choose liquids, which have labels, where the manufacturer and date of production are indicated.
